3D Realms Promises Duke Nukem 'Resurgence' In 2010

Most of us believed that Duke Nukem was dead with the official cancellation of Duke Nukem Forever in May 6th, 2009; but it seems that 2010 may see the series come back with a vengeance.

"The next few years should see a strong resurgence in Duke," 3D Realms CEO Scott Miller told Gamesauce magazine. "There are numerous other Duke games in various stages of development, several due out this year. We are definitely looking to bring Duke into casual gaming spaces, plus there are other major Duke games in production. Almost all of these [projects] are unannounced."

Miller refused to give any more details, but we already know that there are 2 Duke Numek titles currently being developed for iPhone. There is also Duke Nukem Trilogy in the works for DS and PSP and there are rumors about an Xbox Live Arcade port of Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project.

Before ending the interview, Miller didn't forget to affirm that Duke Nukem Forever isn't officially dead. "Yes, we released the internal team, but that doesn't correlate to the demise of the project," he said.
