22 Cans new game, The Trail, released in UK

22 Cans, the studio headed by Dungeon Keeper creator, Peter Molyneux, but perhaps most well known for delivering disappointing products like Curiosity and Godus, has released a new game in the UK, continuing its ever Westward release schedule.

It's called The Trail and is a free to play, explorative game which operates a little like No Man's Sky, but on a pathway, rather than in space. Gameplay involves you walking or jogging down a relaxing, pastel colored pathway in the wilderness. The locale is beautiful and serene, giving you a more meditative experience than your average shooter or strategy title.

Along your way you'll meet strange characters, collect resources, craft items and eventually build settlements of your own, all while trekking along the trail.

Of course the game features microtransactions, as every other free to play game does, but 22 Cans seems to have learned a little at least from its past efforts. The aesthetic in the game is beautiful too, leveraging 22 Cans' Godus art style into something much more applicable.

Initially launched in the Philippines in September, the game has now had its UK release on iOS and Android and will likely become available in the U.S. before the end of the year.
